Departure Puerto Williams-Beagle Kanal Go West

Am 11.01. um 18.30 Uhr verließen wir endgültig Puerto Williams um unsere Reise nach Norden anzutreten. Nachts um 02.00 Uhr
nahm der Wind schlagartig auf 9 Bft zu, ein gegenanbolzen war nicht möglich - wir mussten umkehren und in der Caleta Letier
Schutz suchen. Die Ansteuerung der Caleta bei Nacht und Sturm muß ich nicht nochmal machen! Ankerposition in der Caleta
Letier 54°56,55'S 68°26,6'W

Am 12.01.2012 hatte Barbara einen schönen Geburtstagstisch mit tollen Geschenken für mich gedeckt, auch von Frank und Peter
erhielt ich sehr schöne Geschenke. Mittags fuhren wir an Land und machten eine lange Wanderung. Um 16.30 Uhr setzen wir die
Reise fort. Um 19.30 Uhr nahm der Wind im Beagle Canal wieder auf 9 Bft zu, wir mußten wieder umkehren und in der Caleta
Ferrari Schutz suchen. Für läppische 5 sm brauchten wir 3 Stunden!!! Fazit: viel Diesel verbraucht und nichts geschafft!

On January 11th at 18:30 we departed P.Williams to start our N-bound voyage. On the 12th at 02:00 the wind increased suddenly to 9 Bft and it was not possible to make way against it.Turned around and anchored in the Caleta Letier 

In the morning Barabara had prepared my birthday table with her, Frank's and Peter's wonderful presents..At noon we went ashore for a long walk. At 16:30 we continued our voyage but at 19:30 the head wind increased to 9 Bft again in the Beagle channel.We had to turn around and this time we dropped anchor in the Caleta Ferrari. WE made 5 nm in 3 hours and had a high Diesel oil consumption.
