Am 18.11.2011 liefen Oleg Bely und seine Frau Sophie mit ihrer wunderschönen Yacht KOTIK in Rawson ein und ließen sich gegenüber von uns trocken fallen. Oleg und Sophie sind in der Seglerszene Legenden. Mit ihrer Yacht sind sie nunmehr seit 30 Jahren jedes Jahr in der Antarktis. Bei uns an Bord erzählten sie die tollsten Geschichten und gaben uns wertvolle Hinweise für die Weiterreise.
Am 18. mussten wir auch 90 l Diesel bunkern. Diesel gab es nur an der 4 km entfernten Tankstelle in Rawson. Ein Beamter der Prefektura Naval fuhr uns mit seinem Wagen zur Tankstelle. Dort trafen wir einen sehr netten Fischdampfereigner, der gerade Diesel für sein Fischerboot holte. Er nahm auch unsere Kanister mit und stellte sie vor unser Boot. Welch ein Service!
Am 19.11. 2011 um 14.00 Uhr wollten wir auslaufen. Vorher kam die gesamte Belegschaft der Prefektura, sowie die Besatzung des Whalewatching Bootes, an dessen Platz wir die ganze Zeit gelegen hatten, sowie ein netter Fischdampferkapitän an Bord, um uns Glück und eine gute Reise zu wünschen. Um 13:45  Uhr legten wir dann ab. Unser nächstes Ziel ist die einsame Caleta (Minifjord) Sara ca. 100 sm südlich.

On the 18th arrived Oleg Bely and his wife Sophie with her marvellous yacht KOTIK in Rawson and moored opposite of us. Olege and Sophie are legends in the Antarktis. Since 30 years they are every year in this area. Beside wonderful stories, they gave us a lot of hints for our future trip.
On the 18th we had to bunker 90 l Dieseloil which is only available in the Gas station 4 km away. One officer of the Prefektura drove us with his car to the station. There we met a very friendly owner of a Fishing boat who also purchased Diesel, so he took our Diesel as well and placed them in front of our boat. What a human gesture.
We planned to sail on the 19th at 14:00 hours. Prior departure came the whole Prefectura staff, as well as the crew of the Whalewatching Boat (we were alongside on their berth all the time) and a friendly Captain of a Fishing boat to wish us luck and a safe voyage. At 13:45 hours we departed. Our next target is Caleta (Minifjord) Sara abt. 100 nm south.
