At Porto Santo

AdminSome friends complained already -no more English articles. But be sure there was no time. We are at anchor now at the little Island of La Graciosa......but lets start from the beginning. After a very relaxing voyage we arrived at Porto Santo, the northermost Island of the Madeira Archipelago in the morning of the 22nd of August.
One hour before a school of dolphins and a little while later a few whales had welcomed us. Porto Santo is an almost deserted Island with very little vegetation. The main attraction is the 8 km long white sand beach which starts just behind the yacht harbour. So every day we took long swims in the warm ocean. Barbara met a nice Portuguise lady named Paula, which drove us with her car over the Island. Long bicycles tours where performed and we where shocked when we saw that on this little island huge hotelcomplexes where errected.
The little village was very attractive with the old kolonial buildings. Also Columbus lived here for a while. His house is now a nice little museum, showing his life and his voyages to the West Indies.
Frank made a diving course and has the garde of an “Open Water Diver” now. He also bought a complete diving equipment. On the 6th of September we  sailed with a fine breeze the 30 nm to Madeira.

Good morning my friends. I'm following your track, and we are thinking about you all the times. It's good that your logbook is in German, than im probably good in German when you are back home 2015. Do you have any phonenumber, once probably we can call you. Best regards from Reidun and me here up in the cold north. Big hug to you and Barbara fom us and to frank.
