The crossing of the Bay of Biscay
Geschrieben von Hans-Rolf Rauert amMonday the 05th of July at 12.00h we left Camaret sur Mer, the weather fine, the wind NE, strait from aft. For the next 330 nm the course 210°. A few hours later at 16.20h we hoisted our huge Spinnaker, giving us a much higher speed. The next morning - no wind anymore, the boat rolling in a high NWl'y swell. We had to start the motor untill 07.45h the next day. We where very thankfull when we
could stopp the motor and start sailing again. Later during the Day many dolphins played around the boat for almost an hour.What a beauty to watch this beautiful animals for such a long time!
On the 8th of July in the morning at 09.00h we sighted land. But this can not be Spain!!!! Cold, dark with heavy clouds and we expected the sun! Minutes later we sailed through a heavy thunderstorm. extreme rainfall, where are we??? But then at 12.00h the sun came through, within minutes it became hot, we motored at the new marina in La Coruna - we have arrived. At the pontoon we met the Trans-Ocean yacht
